Canon USA Teases V Cameras Ahead of Announcement

Canon USA has released a teaser showing off the Canon PowerShot V1 and the Canon EOS R50 V. Both cameras will be announced globally on March 26, 2025. Hey, we got an announcement date correct!

Canon EOS R50 V

We don’t have definitive specifications as of yet, but it’s safe to assume that it’ll be an entry level vlogger focused camera. We expect it to be around $650 USD and be kitted with a new lens.

The lens we’re told is a 15-30mm, with possibly a power zoom function. We don’t know the speed of the lens, but don’t expect it to be fast.

Canon PowerShot V1

This camera was announced in Asia for CP+ back in February and as previously reported, it will get its global launch next week. We’re told the PowerShot V1 should be available in April.

  • 22MP Type 1.4 (18.4 x 12.3mm) Dual Pixel AF CMOS sensor
  • 16-50mm equiv. F2.8-4.5 zoom lens with 3EV ND filter
  • Full-width 4K up to 30p from 5.7K capture
  • 4K/60p from a 1.4x crop (1:1 pixel capture)
  • Up to 30 fps stills capture in e-shutter mode
  • Cooling fan for extended video recording
  • Wired or wireless video streaming
  • Multi-function hotshoe for flash or audio accessories
  • Fully-articulated rear touchscreen

Conclusion

That’s it for now, but we’re sure everything else will come out fairly quickly between now and then.

I wanted to add, we were incorrect about the Canon EOS RV coming next week as well. We believe that will come in early May, but we’re not 100% sure at this time.
